Putting It Together

Ever get sick of everything and want to throw it all in the garbage and start again? Whether it be something in your life, your work, your home, do you just want to start over? Well, don't be too quick to ditch everything, but you can set things aside for awhile, yes, a thought, action, or even the stuff around your house. Put it out of view for awhile, place older items, stuff you are sick of, into a storage box and stick it in a closet, under the bed, in a cabinet, somewhere out of the way. I never advise throwing things out right away unless it's just paper, old files you know you won't need again, but actual objects, books, and things you spent your hard earned cash on, think before you toss or hit the donation stores. Sometimes you wish you had that special decorative box your aunt gave you or those wonderful dessert dishes that look so good on the table when girlfriends stop by, you know, just think before you completely give up on it. I found a few ideas on the web about grouping things together that might give you some ideas.

If you've got that odd but special chair, don't give it away, just place it in a corner of the room and group it together with a side table. Place it by a large window or sliding glass door, but any corner will do. No need for clutter, the chair and simple items will do the trick. Notice the colors match, so don't be afraid of a pattern on a chair, just match it with the same color scheme.

Below is an example of how to place items together at your work area at home. Notice again the colors compliment each other.

If you've got a large bedroom you don't need to clutter it up with a lot of furniture. Notice the large screen television on an easel with a small table and chair off to the side. It will save you the expense of having a recessed television built into the end of the bed and you can move the TV back into a corner and it will fit flat against the wall. No need for putting holes in a wall to mount the television and it can be moved easily to another room in the house.

In a small space, a cafe table can double as your work space so enjoy that fruit smoothie with blueberries while you type away working on that special project or the story of your life cleverly written under the guise of a novel. Don't be afraid to make your space special, no matter if you live in a large house or small apartment, it's your space and you can have it all, function, style and comfort.
