Summer Style

Summer is almost here which means that we've got new opportunities to change our style for the season and I've got a few suggestions for your consideration.

It is important to think about each season, what we no longer need or use, I mean, if you really haven't used a product or worn an outfit in at least two years and six months, then you probably don't like it anymore or that makeup or pair of shoes or pieces of clothing no longer strike your fancy.

So, toss it or donate it or just give it away to a friend, of course, we don't normally pass off makeup to anyone else. Just remember to use your stuff, don't just buy it and store it. If you really hate it, fine, the garbage can would be more than happy to take it off your hands. Don't feel guilty about it. Not everything will work out in our lives on the first try. Just keep experimenting until you find your personal style.

Travel:

The jumpsuit never goes out of style and it's a great choice for trains, planes or automobile travel. They are easy to wear, comfortable, and can stand up to those long trips. Just toss it in your suitcase and wear it on the way to your destination and back again. Make sure it's got pockets, sturdy material in case you have to jump out of an airplane or fill up that car with a tank of gasoline, you don't have to worry about tearing anything or getting it dirty or spoiling your good stuff on your way to your ultimate landing. Wash, wear and go and you'll look sporty doing it.

Perfect for flights.

Even though you may want to be cute and cool while traveling, it's not advisable to bare your legs for airplane travel. If you suffer an in-flight mishap and get jostled around or need to make an emergency landing and the plane gets hot, or catches fire, your bare legs will suffer. It's best to wear thick cotton, canvas or denim so in case things heat up beyond the norm in that airplane, your legs are protected. Don't wear polyester pants because they can melt into your skin if you have a disaster and fire breaks out either inflight or if the pilot makes an emergency landing and you have no landing gear and the plane skids and heats up. Even if you have to slide down one of those emergency evacuation slides, your legs will be scraped up if they are bare or thin fabric may tear. So think about being protected during your flight while staying calm, cool and comfortable.

Change into your cute outfits after you land at your final destination.

Pets:

Make sure bedding is kept cool and clean for your furry roommates and keep them indoors in the summertime or at least on a shaded patio with lots of water and a fan blowing for air circulation. But really, indoors is best. Of course if you have farm animals, they enjoy lots of water in barrels or tubs or shallow pools but don't let water stand and become stagnate. Have shady stalls and barns they can walk in and out of with air circulating and fans mounted for safety and out of reach.

Fashion:

If you want to shop the trend, it's all about puffy sleeves, graffiti prints, bralettes, and menswear. It's fun to have some current styles in your closet, but beware they will quickly expire and you may stick out in some social circles for all the wrong reasons. Pick what works for you and experiment with different styles.

Makeup:

Orange, coral, and neutrals are the way to go this summer with your makeup. Add some eyelashes for extra emphasis or go with your own with extra coats of mascara or emphasize the eye area and go neutral or nude on your mouth. Don't forget to switch to waterproof makeup that can hold up for longer hours if you plan on being outdoors, something like, Clinique Continuous Coverage foundation which has a sunscreen in it too so you aren't having to add layers of product under your foundation. Then set it with your favorite unscented powder to prevent breakouts and keep your makeup in place so it's not running all over the place.
