Cannes 2015

The annual Cannes Film Festival for 2015 only has a few days left and all the style and glamour of the beautiful people can be seen on the media pages on the Internet as they grace the red carpet events attending the screenings of many movies that will eventually find their way to the American silver screen.

A vast array of styles can be found at Cannes and here are a few of my favorites, oh, and don't forget ladies and gents, if you've got the real stuff [you know what I mean] don't hesitate to show it off.

Can't take my eyes off those gorgeous gems as worn by Jane Fonda. If you've got them, don't keep them locked up. They need air and light to sparkle and shine and they cast a wonderful reflection against the skin.

Are you blessed with long gorgeous gams? Then this look is for you as worn by Izabel Goular.

This is a great look for the mature lady whose figure has not abandoned them as Jane Fonda just keeps getting better looking with age.

Elegance is the key to these stylish dresses as actress, director and screen writer Emmanuelle Bercot, the famously beautiful Catherine Deneuve, [pictured with actor Benoit Magimel] turn heads at the opening ceremony of the Cannes film festival.

When in doubt, always rely upon the simple black dress as worn by Emmanuelle Beart. But please ladies, remember your posture. Shoulders back, chin up, and you're ready to walk any red carpet.

Wonderful dress and great color for any skin tone. And, if you are toned and a bit under-fleshed in the breast department, this is the look for you as worn by the Academy award winning actress Lupita Nyong'o.

Now, no crowding or pushing, let the photogs get their shot. Remember to always have fun while flashing your own personal style.

Perfume: Not Just For Moms

Do you still wear perfume? Well if you are unlucky enough to be caught up in what is traditionally called "mother's day", you probably will be gifted with some type of perfume on that day more than any other. There's nothing more depressing then marking the passage of time and labeled a "mom" to something, whether human or otherwise. I hope you aren't tied down in your life with anything that depends solely upon your existence, how dull. But let's talk about perfume for a moment. It's a hot and smelly issue that not many people can face head on, or with their noses.

Perfume can be considered a pure luxury, an indulgence, to make you feel better and give a little pleasure to a certain someone that gets very close to you. Let me tell you, be aware that there are a bunch of ugly people around town that don't appreciate your little luxury, as a general rule of thumb, go easy on perfumes and save it for special times with special people. Lighter fragrances and body sprays make you feel good following a bath or shower, and spray a favorite room scent on fabric curtains [test a small area first to make sure it's doesn't stain].

Considered the world's most expensive
perfume created by Clive Christian because
of the bottle, containing a 5 carat diamond
and 18-carat gold collar. The fragrance
consists primarily of white peach, plum,
pineapple and mirabelle.

Do you have to spend a lot to smell fantastic? No, however, I won't go into your daily routine of cleanliness, but I will go into a list of some of my favorite brands of fragrance. As always, ask for a sample before buying, and many online shops offer samples as well.

Have fun with it, don't depend on it, don't feel you can't leave the house without it. It is a fun addition to any day at home, or while browsing your favorite antique shops. But beware of overdoing it and becoming that despised person in the office; small office spaces breed contempt.

I generally steer clear of any celebrity fragrances, for men or women because they are canned somewhere in the Far East and are a rehash of a bunch of failed and factory housed scents that have been lying around forever. You may disagree with me if you wish, but I am here to guide you, not promote anything I don't feel is worth it...case in point:

Listed below are a few of my favorite brands:

Chanel

Robert Piguet

Jo Malone

Yves Saint Laurent

Burberry

Tom Ford

Atelier Cologne

It's fun testing and choosing a variety of pleasant scents to suit your taste.
Have fun, and keep the ugly people away from you, if they complain, fine, don't wear it, but get away from them if at all possible.
You don't want any ugliness ruining your purrrfect day.
