Be My Valentine

Valentine's Day is a special time when everyone loves to shop for their favorite people in their lives and don't forget those pets that bring us so much love and joy year round, they deserve a special day too. But okay, don't start making it a big excuse to chow down on a ton of food, wine and candy. Let's not end the celebration of love in a heap of depression since you over-did it at the food court or got buried in your couch and couldn't get up due to that 10 lb box of chocolate you decided you had to eat. Here are a few ideas to celebrate in a fun way but not be stressed or thin out your wallet, keep that fat, and you skinny.

Try Vegan Chocolate, it's better for you. A sugary sweet treat is fine on occasion, but let's not add all the processed dairy products to your diet which will only fatten that waistline and your body has to fight to get rid of all those hormones that are naturally in dairy products since cows have hormones, can't avoid it, but hey, it's just chocolate, so try vegan.

Take a nice drive in the country, get out of town for awhile and don't think about spending a lot of money. Your significant other will enjoy the thought of going for a ride and stopping at whatever small cafe catches your eye.

Decorating? Well, I have yet to find any Valentine's Day decorations that don't look like they're for kids, and they're kind of tacky. It's really not necessary unless [God help you] you have to cook a dinner for family and my gosh, that is just not a good idea, I mean, unless you have a small group to your house for just desserts...ummm, you get my message. Go out and have fun, go to the movies, anything but slave over a hot oven or fight with your chef over the menu. Life is too short for that, but sometimes a nice dinner for two at home is just what you need and leave the decorating for another day.
